Productivity Hacks for Working Remotely

Aug 25, 2020Business Development, Coaching0 comments

Working remotely adds new challenges to productivity. Utilizing productivity hacks are an excellent way to level up. While using productivity hacks, it is important to remember that productivity is always changing. What worked today may not work tomorrow. This means that if you are looking to increase your productivity, you must be deliberate with your time. With these hacks, you will be able to get more done and better manage your time.

First, you need to think bigger. Everyone wants to be more productive; get more done faster. By actively and effectively managing your time and making progress on your goals, you will create an amazing life of success for yourself.

Batching similar tasks is one of the best productivity hacks and is also one of the simplest. By focusing on one theme of tasks at a time, you can better utilize your focus. You can schedule a time to respond to all your emails, edit large quantities of photos, write down notes, read, or think.

Utilize and manage your calendar. Schedule “do not disturb” time when you are concentrating and do not want to be disrupted. Track your time. The idea is to maximize your time investment and stick to your schedule. This will also lessen the chance of being distracted when you are really trying to focus. If you find yourself doing something you know you shouldn’t be, or in the middle of a habit you want to prevent, try to immediately stop when you realize you’ve become distracted.

You should always keep a notepad nearby. This is a place to keep a list of wins you achieve (this will help make you more motivated). You can quickly write down distracting thoughts, which may be valuable later, but allows you to get back to the task at hand. The notepad will also help you to schedule your next day and next week. It is a great place to list out all the tasks you want to complete tomorrow.

Keep your workplace neat and organized. There is nothing wrong with a little clutter–it may even get those creative juices flowing. However, that does not mean you should work in chaos. Keep your workspace clean and organized. Not only will this save you time since you are not searching for misplaced items, but it will also prevent your mind from zoning in on that mess. When you end your day, clean your desk and set it up for the work you plan to accomplish tomorrow.

To increase your productivity, automate repetitive tasks (think autopay for bills). You can create templates for things you repeatedly do. For example, you can create templates for emails that you regularly send to your customers. Similar to automating, another hack is delegating (you do not have to do everything). Doing this may require hiring a virtual assistant.

Productive people hold themselves accountable. They are driven and goal-oriented. So much so that they have written goals. They are proactive and do not easily get derailed. They keep a small priorities list.

Finally, one of the most essential productivity hacks, especially when working remotely, is to take care of yourself. Take a break when you need it so your mind and body can function properly and at high levels. Staying healthy helps you stay productive, and that will keep you moving in the right direction.

While this is just a shortlist of productivity hacks, it will help keep you focused and centered. Practice this–and thrive
